Sberbank says in talks to enter Rambler Group’s capital

MOSCOW, Apr 22 (PRIME) -- Russia’s biggest bank Sberbank is negotiating entering capital of local media holding Rambler Group, whose beneficiary owner is businessman Alexander Mamut, a bank spokesperson told PRIME on April 20.

“We are confirming the fact of talks,” the spokesperson said.

Media reported earlier quoting sources that Sberbank and Rambler Group had agreed on the terms of participation of the bank’s units in the holding’s capital. Sberbank’s group could acquire a significant stake but below control. Sources said the deal could be officially announced at the week starting on Monday.

Reuters also reported in February that Sberbank was is talks on an acquisition of Rambler Group from Mamut, but the information was denied.
